Scholarships for California Animal Science Majors

UC Davis Animal Science Scholarships

• The Department of Animal Science at the University of California in Davis makes several scholarships available to animal science majors. The Ian Garnett Memorial Award is awarded to an animal science major preparing for a career in agribusiness in the amount of $500. The Frank G. Rue Memorial Award is awarded annually in the amount of $5,000 to an animal science major with a demonstrated interest in livestock. The Oskar Lang Laboratory Animal Science Award is awarded in the amount of $1,000 each year to an animal science major interested in the management of lab animals. California Polytechnic State University Animal Science Scholarships

• The Animal Science Department at California Polytechnic State University offers a number of scholarships to animal science majors attending the institution. The Jan Guidetti Memorial Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $500, the Harry Parker Award is awarded in the amount of $250, and the Lisle R. Green Memorial Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $250. In addition, one animal science major is awarded a full-tuition Max & Verda Foster Memorial Scholarship each year. CFBF Scholarship

• The California Farm Bureau Federation makes scholarship money available to California animal science majors pursuing a career in the agricultural industry. In order to be eligible, a student must be an undergraduate student at an accredited four-year California institution. In addition to a completed application, a student must also submit two letters of recommendation. Scholarship awards typically range from $1,800 to $2,750. The annual deadline for application is March 1. Prospective applicants should visit the CFBF website for more information.
