Illinois College Grants for Law Enforcement Majors

A variety of college grants are available to law enforcement majors in Illinois. Many law enforcement scholarships are provided by specific colleges and universities. Others scholarships are sponsored by Illinois organizations that have a connection to law enforcement.
  1. WIU Law Enforcement Scholarships

    • The School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration at Western Illinois University makes a variety of scholarships available to its students. For instance, the $1,000 Kara Leigh Broughton Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a law enforcement student at WIU who is in his junior or senior year and has a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5. The $250 Roy Shepard Scholarship is awarded to an African-American law enforcement student. The $425 Jerilyn Pecharich Scholarship is awarded each year to a WIU law enforcement major. The annual application deadline for WIU law enforcement scholarships is March 1.

    Rockford Area Crime Stoppers College Scholarship Program

    • Rockford Area Crime Stoppers provides grants to law enforcement majors through its College Scholarship Program. Rockford Area Crime Stoppers Scholarships for $500 are available to graduating high school students and to current college students for $1,000. Students must be pursuing a career in criminal justice or law enforcement and must have graduated from a high school in Winnebago County. The annual deadline for application is the second Friday in April.

    University of Illinois Conservation Law Enforcement Scholarships

    • The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign offers two scholarships to students majoring in conservation law enforcement. The $1,000 Illinois Federation of Outdoor Resources Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate conservation law enforcement major each year. The $1,000 Illinois Federation of Outdoor Resources Graduate Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate student in conservation law enforcement. Students must have a grade point average of at least 3.0 and must be a permanent resident of Illinois.
