Alternative Schools in Houston

The Houston Independent School District offers a variety of alternative schools for students with special circumstances. Due to pregnancy, learning disabilities, behavioral problems, drug and alcohol addiction, or other issues, these students have been unable to achieve success in a traditional public school environment.

Each of Houston's alternative schools has a different set of goals, advantages, attendance policies and admittance requirements. Therefore, it is important to research the options carefully before determining the right choice for every student.
