Children's Cooking Schools in Maryland

Cooking can be an educational and entertaining activity for children. Whether your child is in grade school or a teen, Maryland has a variety of instructional options for the budding chef. Culinary classes range from single sessions to week-long camps, and often focus on the basics of the art including vocabulary, technique, tools, creating recipes and (of course) cooking.
  1. Chef Bryan's Kitchen

    • Chef Bryan's Kitchen, located in the Kentlands, Gaithersburg, Maryland, offers children's cooking classes, camps and parties. The Young Chef's program is designed for kids ages 7 through 16 and provides basic culinary instruction. Topics cover cooking tools, vocabulary, nutrition facts, recipes and hands-on cooking. Students will take home several recipes to try for their families.

Children's Parties include culinary instruction, cooking tools, food, plates/silverware and take-home recipes for up to 8 kids. The menu for these two-hour fun-filled group classes can either be specialized for the child's palette, or chosen from a theme such as Italian Pizza, The American Diner, Sushi, Breakfast for Dinner, Fabulous French, Italian Pasta or Brunch.

Cooking Camps are five-day summer cooking classes that help young chefs expand their culinary know-how. These camps are held daily from either 10 am to 12 pm or 2 pm to 4 pm.
