Appel Farm has been in operation since 1960 and operates as a sleep-away camp focusing on the arts. Campers from the ages of 9 to 17 years can attend for two, four, six or eight weeks. Each camper chooses four areas of interest such as dance, visual arts, photography, recording arts, creative writing, sports, music, swimming and theater on which to focus during his time at camp. Each subject is taught by experienced professionals. The camp encourages healthy eating, and many of the ingredients used in the camp kitchen come from an on-site organic garden, which campers help to maintain.
