At the duCret School of Art, several summer courses are offered to provide basic and advanced education in graphic design. The Adobe Illustrator course provides fundamental education in the tools and features of the program to create two-dimensional (2D) art. In the Design course, students learn about graphic design concepts including lines, shape patterns, color and texture to produce 2D and three-dimensional (3D) visual art. The advanced Design Studio Practices courses assist students in developing professional skills including composition, typography, photo shoot management in the first of the two courses, plus advanced design concepts and multiple page publications in the second. Classes and workshops at the duCret School of Art are available from $55 per program; 2010 rates.

At Game Camp USA (Convergenesis, Inc.), participants between the ages of 10 and 16 learn to develop their own video games at the Courtyard by Marriott in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. Students are familiarized with professional software by experienced graphic designers and learn to design environment and character graphics. Participants are also given time to enjoy playing the games designed by class peers. Graphic design classes are conducted in small groups of no more than six students per instructor. Staff are experienced college students with majors in a related field. Both day and overnight programs are available and those staying overnight are provided with complementary breakfast buffets each morning. Week-long day programs are available from $395 and week-long overnight programs are available from $680, according to 2010 rates.

Internal Drive Tech Camps host summer computer programs at Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey. Novice and expert individuals alike are welcome to participate in small-size class instruction in a week-long graphic design program. Students will learn the fundamentals of using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to develop a multitude of labels, apparel, logos and more. Students learn about video game design and flash animation while plenty of free time is afforded where participants can use their creativity to design their own projects. All staff are experienced graphic designers with thorough education in the field. This educational program is available from $779 per week, based on summer 2010 rates.
