University Courses in Graphic Design

Graphic designers are media artists. They are painters, advertising designers and the layout artists who design how newspapers and magazines are displayed. Most of today's design is done using computer-based programs, but many designers still use freehand techniques, such as painting and drawing, to shape their designs. College courses in graphic design will teach students how to use freehand and computer-based design tools, how to create design portfolios and how to work with clients.
