How to Cite a Cartoon in APA

Writing a paper often requires that you conduct extensive research on a topic. While such research often consists of using books or academic journals as resources, writers may also find more non-traditional resources to add substance to their papers. Such sources may include pamphlets, radio broadcasts or cartoons, for example. If citing a cartoon in your paper using APA format, do so as you would a standard television program.

Instructions

Type the writer's name. Write the writer's name as Last Name, First Initial followed by a period, their title in parentheses, and a comma. For example, you may write, "Rogers, K. (Writer)," as the first line in your citation.

Type an ampersand and the director's name. Write this as Last Name, First Initial followed by their title in parentheses and a period. Include the date of publication in parentheses after the period. This section will read as, "& Frazier, B. (Director). (1986)."
