Greeting Cards for Kids to Make

There are many great craft ideas for kids to make their own greeting cards. There are plenty of examples online for you to preview. Decide what kind of card you want the kids to make. Perhaps it's someones birthday or there is a holiday coming up. Maybe, they can make a card just to show someone they care.
  1. Alligator Card

    • You will need scissors, crayons or markers, pencil and green letter-size paper. Begin by folding the paper the long way so you end up with a long rectangle. Draw the alligator's body on one side of the paper. The folded side will be the top. Cut six diagonal slits along the top. Cut out the outline of the body. Fold out the slits you cut. Draw the face. Write your message inside.

    Bird Beak

    • You will need scissors, crayons or markers and colored letter-size paper. Fold the paper in half so the short ends meet. Cut a slit in center of folded side and bend up the corners to make beak. Open the card and use crayons to draw the face around the beak. Write your message on the bottom.

    Drying Mittens

    • You will need glue, string, scissors, small clothespins, letter-size construction paper and a pencil. Take one piece of paper and fold in half. Cut mitten shapes out of another. Glue string from one corner of the top of the card to other. Glue clothespins to the string, then place each mitten in a clothespin. Now, write your message inside the card.

    Heart In My Hands

    • You will need hand paint, letter-size paper and a pencil. Fold the paper in half . Cover both hands in paint (you can use different colors for each hand if you like) and place one hand print down on the paper at a 45 degree angle so the fingers face the center bottom of paper. Place the second hand the same way on top of the other print. Write your message inside the folded card.
