How to Make Bingo Cards for Preschool

A fun and educational way to teach preschoolers numbers and letters is to create homemade bingo cards and enjoy a game with a group of students. Bingo cards can be created easily with basic materials. The cards can be used over and over again with preschoolers to enforce classroom learning.

Instructions

    • 1

Use cardstock to cut out enough bingo cards so each preschooler has their own to play the game. Use scissors or a paper cutter to cut the cards into 8-inch by 8-inch squares, which creates a large and comfortable playing card for preschoolers.

    • 2

Use a ruler and a pencil to mark every 2 inches around the outside edge of the paper. Connect the lines using a black marker to create a grid with 4 squares down and 4 across, creating 16 bingo squares total.

    • 3

Write random letters of the alphabet in the squares on each card using the black marker.

    • 4

Cut out 26 squares of white paper with scissors and write the alphabet on each square with a black marker. Place them in a small paper bag.

    • 5

Cut several small 2-inch by 2-inch squares out of scrap paper with scissors for preschoolers to use as marker chips while playing bingo.

    • 6

To play Alphabet Bingo, give each preschooler a bingo card and a collection of marker chips. Pull a letter out of the paper bag and have preschoolers look for it on their bingo card. When a preschooler has 4 in a row, they have bingo.
