Use different materials as the base for the trophy. A small, painted block of wood or cardboard box works perfect. Make sure the base is sturdy enough to support the trophy and stand upright.
Expand the tower of the trophy using toilet paper and paper towel rolls. Try to keep the trophy under 2 feet tall so that it remains secure. Use duct tape so the rolls will stand up more easily.
Crumple up pieces of newspaper and stuff them inside the toilet paper rolls to add weight to the trophy. Along with newspaper, you can stuff in cotton balls or any soft material that will not make noise when the trophy is moved.
Top the trophy off with the plastic cup to make it look like a Golden Cup- type award. For people-based trophy toppers you can use small action figures. Use colored felt to decorate the people with different clothes.
Use paint or construction paper to cover the trophy. Add tinfoil for a shinier look on the trophy. Apply glitter glue, ribbons, and metallic star stickers to help finish the trophy.
