Make a black and white border collie mask with a paper bag. Cut out two holes for the eyes, and use construction paper to make the ears. You can also make a hand puppet with a paper bag. Cut out ears and arms out of cardboard, and attach them to the bag. Alternatively, use toilet cardboard rolls to make the dog's body and piper cleaners to make the legs and tail. Stuff a small paper bag with old newspaper to make the head. Draw the facial features with a black marker or glue on wiggle eyes.
Collect leftover black and white fabric. Cut it into small pieces to create a fabric mosaic by gluing them on a border collie cardboard silhouette. Stuff an old sock with scrap fabric to make the body and head of your border collie. Stack small yo-yos -- circular units of fabric gathered in the center -- to make the legs and tail. Cut the ears and tongue out of fabric. Paint using black and white fabric paint. Alternatively, make a sock puppet and glue patches of black and white fabric on it. Use buttons for the eyes and felt for the ears and tongue.
Use clay to shape your border collie. You can form the head, legs and tail separately, then attach them to the body, or mold your dog out of a single piece of clay. Leave it to dry for 24 hours, and paint with black and white acrylic paint. Alternatively, use a black and white, nontoxic reusable modeling compound. You can also stack small clay flowerpots to make the legs and tail of your border collie. Glue two larger pots by their rims to make the body.
Collect plastic bottles and yogurt, ice cream and other plastic containers to craft your border collie. Use a plastic bottle to make the dog's body. Stack plastic caps by making a hole in their middle and passing a wire through them. Glue them to one side of the bottle to make the dog's legs. Use a yogurt container to make the dog's head. Cut the ears and tail out of a plastic bag.
