Maryland Colleges That Offer Homeschool Courses

Many colleges in Maryland have added a variety of homeschool courses to their curriculum. Homeschooled students as young as 7 years old can now enroll at many of the institutions. The classes offered range from art and music to science, language and math. While some colleges offer only a few courses, others have a wide selection.
  1. The Community College of Baltimore County

    • The Community College of Baltimore offers a very large selection of homeschool courses. Your young artist of 7 years of age can get his hands dirty while playing with clay in an art class. Your linguist of 9 years of age can learn to speak Japanese. Other classes include Algebra I Review for ages 12 to 15, Robotics for ages 12 to 16, Chemistry Lab Experiments for ages 12 to 14, Child's Piano Class for ages 7 to 11 and Rock Guitar for ages 11 to 15. Class fees range from $39 to $129. Most classes run throughout the week during the school day.

    Howard Community College

    • Howard Community College offers a variety of courses for younger students in art and other studies, as well as many classes that cater specifically to homeschoolers ages 12 to 15. Its science courses offer an opportunity for homeschool students to experience a lab setting. The costs can range from $245 and up for a 10-week course.

    Anne Arundel Community College Academic

    • Anne Arundel Community College offers three courses for homeschoolers in fourth through seventh grade.

      Introduction to Composition
      This course provides a review of grammar and punctuation plus a basic practice of sentence structure, paragraphs and short essays. The cost is $135 for a six-week session.

      Microscopic World
      Children learn the functions of a microscope and about magnification. Students construct slides of their own to view. The cost is $135 for a six-week session.

      Mad Scientist
      Homeschoolers explore the world of science through chemicals, weather and the universe. The fee is $87 for a six-week session.
