Assess where you are in your schoolwork. How much more do you need to catch up to where you should be in your schoolwork? Calculate how much time you have to finish the work required. Mark these numbers down on paper. Now divide the amount of pages to be completed by the amount of days you have left to do them. This will give you a number of pages that you need to complete each day.
Work through the summer and possibly on Saturdays to catch up on your schoolwork. No one wants to do schoolwork through the summer but if it means not repeating a grade then it is well worth it. The load can be lighter in the summer than during the school year but at least the schoolwork will get done.
Avoid television and video games as much as possible. They take up precious time you could be using for studying for a test or catching up on schoolwork.
Find a quiet place to do your work. A quiet, secluded area can help your mind relax and allow you to think easier. When we are less stressed, we get more done. Try not to overwhelm your mind. Instead focus on what you need to accomplish for that day. You will feel a greater sense of accomplishment if you set your day’s goal and achieve it.
Gather all that you need ahead of time so you don’t waste time when you start to study. It can tire you out when you realize you need to retrieve something that's been left in the other room. It can also distract you and destroy your concentration. Be prepared before you sit down to do your schoolwork. With these tips in mind, you should be able to catch up on your schoolwork and if you keep up this type of work habit you may even get ahead.
