Three locations in the Hollywood area offer students a choice of workshops that last a weekend, or four or six weeks. Explore the ranges of your talent by choosing private coaching with a casting director or other professional instructor or one evening a week of scene study. Confidence is gained as instructors push through acting blocks and develop ranges of abilities and skills. Beginner and teen commercial classes are offered.
Soap opera stars Josh Duhamel and Rebecca Budig studied at Scott Sedita Acting Studios. Well-educated instructors led by Scott Sedita, an acting coach, actor, author and former talent agent shape students for success in on-camera television. One day a month, a "Comedy Intensive" is offered by Mr. Sedita, who provides students with comedic precision and character perfection techniques. Actors of all levels are provided with audition techniques for cold reading and acting foundation.
Comedic improvisation technique is the focus of instruction at the Second City, which houses the school and a comedy club at several locations. The one on Hollywood Boulevard offers classes that you can drop in for a two-hour session one night a week for a small fee. Or you can do an introductory workshop, or a five-day intensive program in improvisation with a small class of students. Camp programs for students ages 8 to 18 are provided during school breaks.
Memorization techniques, confidence, artistic judgment, and preparation are all developed at the Acting Center. Scene study, private coaching and improvisation are all courses taught at the Acting Center. Career consulting is one of the focuses of the school. Teaching about the business of acting, including the building of a resume, knowledge of agents, managers and unions gives students direction and confidence to attain goals.
