    EI School of Professional Makeup

    • The EI School of Professional Makeup teaches students all aspects of the craft for various industries. The school offers an SFX course that teaches students life casting and sculpting, design and drawing techniques. The program, designed for students whose interest is the special effects industry, consists of 600 clock hours or 26 credits and takes about five months attending full time Monday through Thursday. EI also offers a 52-week Artistry of Makeup program requiring 600 hours or 30 credits that prepares students to apply their skills in fields including the spa industry, film and TV. Training includes beauty and corrective makeup, high fashion photography and theatrical or live performance makeup. Master classes including airbrush techniques, mask-making and refresher courses are available. EI offers student loans and work-study programs for financial assistance.

    Cosmix School of Makeup Artistry

    • Cosmix wants students to begin with a focus on fundamental skills before attempting any specialized applications. Cosmix offers a Production Makeup Artistry program requiring 490 hours that includes courses in fundamentals, high fashion and media makeup for film and television.     Douglas Education Center

    • The Douglas Education Center in Pennsylvania has a 16-month all-inclusive program called the Tom Savini Special Makeup Program. Tom Savini is a renowned makeup artist whose work has been featured on films such as "Friday the 13th" and "Tales From the Darkside." This program prepares students for careers in special effects makeup and show design. An associate's degree is awarded for completion of the 65-credit program.
