The New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts offers students acting from the bare basics to stage speech and voice, stage blocking and movement, improvisation, the history and progression of theater, and practical courses in learning how to better understand and perform acting. The New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts houses professionals from around the world, all of whom are trained in their fields of specialization. The New York Conservatory for the Dramatic Arts also teaches courses in dancing, composing, film and television art and aerobics.
The Action Theater Conservatory is located in Clifton, New Jersey and teaches courses in action-based acting as well as dance, film and television, and musical theater. Courses in acting revolve around the introduction to acting, the study of and conscription of monologues, scene study, acting theory, action acting, character development and transformation, as well as courses in the advanced techniques of acting in an action-based setting. Students also look forward to some limited courses in stage combat.
The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts is located in Washington, D.C. and teaches a wide variety of courses of acting and other dramatic arts. Courses at The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts take place over four semesters, where students participate in classes in the analysis of scripts, acting introduction, the study of scenes, rehearsal techniques, history of theater, vocal range, physical range, the history of Greek tragedy, technical theater, monologue study, Shakespeare, advanced techniques on stage, and the business of acting.
The American Conservatory Theater is a Tony Award-winning program of training actors and technical workers in the theater, and is located in San Francisco. Students have the opportunity to achieve a Master's Degree of Fine Arts for which they study advanced acting techniques, theories of acting and theatrical processes, improvisation on a more technical level, stage combat, advanced projection, acting theory, the history of acting as well as the profession of acting.
