Access GED preparation programs are full-time educational programs administered in a number of locations throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens in New York City. Access programs are especially beneficial for those who wish to pursue New York's Learning to Work Initiative, combining academic instruction with work readiness, student support and career and college exploration activities. Centers assist students in finding paid internships. Access programs also help students meet their academic and career goals. Students in the Access GED program attend class each weekday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

GED Plus is a program that offers part-time graduate record examination preparation courses, as well as helping students transition to a college or career. Most programs are in the evening and some even offer the Learning to Work Initiative, administered through the New York Department of Education and providing students with counselors and internships to help them achieve their academic or career goals. Preparation programs are offered in the Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens boroughs of New York City. Most GED Plus programs are administered in the evening, between Monday and Thursday, between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.

The Adult Learning Center is located at the former Philip Livingston Magnet Academy in Albany. GRE preparation programs are during the day and run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Adult Learning Center assists students in earning their GED, and partners students with counselors to help them with course selection, paperwork and summer employment.
