The nurse assistant training program at the Knoxville Area Chapter of the Red Cross in Tennessee is a five-week program that can be taken either in the day or in the evening. Classes meet four to five days a week, and the sessions are on-going throughout the year. Students attend lectures, participate in clinicals, and undergo CPR training.

The Madison/Marshall County Chapter of the American Red Cross is located in Huntsville, Alabama, and offers three different schedules for the 80-hour nursing assistant program: accelerated, daytime and evening. The accelerated program lasts four weeks and classes are held three days a week for nine hours a day. The daytime and evening program lasts 11 weeks and classes are two days a week for four hours a day. Students complete classroom work, clinical experience and lab training.
