The Fab School specializes in metal fabrication and computer numerical controlled machining. The school's founder Troy Johnson began working in the fabrication industry in 1987. He owned and performed work internationally with Johnson Fabrication before opening the school in 2005. A six-month introduction course covers fabrication concepts in tube bending, notching, cutting, design; pattern, chassis, suspension, welding; MIG and TIG and sheet metal. The advanced computer numerical controlled machining operator course prepares novice fabricators for advanced level work in four weeks with concepts in mill and lathe operation. Weekend Warrior curriculum options give working professionals an option for studying fundamental topics on Saturdays and Sundays. Sessions in resume preparation and interview techniques complement the course curriculum. The school offers loan and scholarship programs. Students receive post-graduation job location assistance.

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing or NASCAR and the Universal Technical Institute or UTI opened the NASCAR Technical Institute in Race City USA. Students prepare for careers as automotive technicians through a NASCAR-specialized training program that features instruction in chassis fabrication. Program participants put their fabrication skills to the test building spec engines for Kyle Busch Motorsports in a 2008 school project. Students get more hands-on experience with projects for the annual Tjin Edition RoadShow. The school has a lifetime job placement program for qualified candidates.
