Automotive Management Schools

Automobile managers work in car dealerships or related industries and may oversee the entire operation of the company or supervise individual departments such as parts, services or finances. More competitive or well-known dealerships may require a bachelor's degree in automobile management or business administration. According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook in 2008, automobile managers earn between $29.17 and $33.73 an hour on average.

    Ferris State University

    • Located in Big Rapids, Michigan, Ferris State University offers over 170 degrees at the associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctorate levels. Its College of Engineering Technology (CET) is the largest in the country and has a 100% job placement with most programs within the same field of their degree. The Bachelor of Arts degree in automotive management is provided through CET and prepares students for careers in industries like car or truck manufacturing, automotive dealerships, automotive parts or insurance companies, and government highway and commission agencies at the local, state or federal level. The program is offered in two degree options, one for students with an associate's degree in the field and the other for students with a high school diploma.

    • Pennsylvania College of Technology was ranked in the top tier of U.S News and World Report's 2010 Best Baccalaureate Colleges in the northern region of the country. The school offers a BA in Automotive Technology Management allowing the opportunity for students to also earn their AAS degree. The first two years of the program focuses on coursework and application in automotive or collision repair and the following two years focuses on management within the industry. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in industries like corporate management, car dealerships, automotive teaching, private business ownership or garages.
