Harassment Training Programs

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has written laws, regulations and guidelines outlining what constitutes prosecutable harassment in the workplace. Harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, physical or verbally abusive or offensive comments based on sex or gender, gender discrimination in hiring, or a "hostile or offensive environment" in the workplace resulting from harassing behavior. Anyone in the workplace can be a harasser or victim, including supervisors, employees and clients, or people of the same or opposite sexes. The EEOC holds employers responsible for addressing and remediating harassment in the workplace. As a result, many employers suggest or require anti-harassment and sexual harassment prevention training for employees.
