Through EEG Spectrum International, EEG training is given through a certain number of sessions, depending on the types of training and specialization a student wishes to master. To learn how to identify basic learning and behavioral problems connected to the brain, it may take anywhere from 20 to 40 training sessions, while learning to diagnose severe brain trauma can require up to 100 sessions before the student is ready for final testing. Training is done through both clinical practice as well as the study of model cases, and courses are run at international locations listed on the site.

EEG Care provides tutored, online courses that cover the complete spectrum of EEG basics and skills delivered through five Internet modules. Students not only learn how to read and review EEG output, but also are able to study cases with brain abnormalities and other central nervous conditions they might have to diagnose in the future. In order to participate in these courses, a prospective neurology student must provide a letter from a Residency Program director or proof of completion in an accredited neurology program. Registration fees and deadlines are available on the website.
