Aurora Health Care is a community based nonprofit health care provider affiliated with Wisconsin's Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. Individuals interested in becoming a CNA may want to consider the employment based training program that Aurora offers. Applicants must be hired by Aurora as a nursing assistant before training. All future CNA's must attend a one hour long medical center information session before beginning the application process and subsequent training. The CNA training program occurs several times during the calendar year, and Aurora offers information sessions two months before each program start date. Although there is a $500 fee for the program, all accepted applicants are paid as employee trainees throughout the class duration. The CNA curriculum is covered for a 15-day period during weekdays. Daily classes meet from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. All students must attend classes in order to graduate. Students completing the CNA program are eligible to obtain state certification by taking the Wisconsin Certified Nursing Assistant examination.
