Apply to a truck driving training program at an Alabama community college or technical school. The student financial aid office will tell you if they are an eligible school for the Alabama Student Grant Program.
Gather your personal information and your previous year's tax forms.You will also need your parents' information if they claim you as a dependent.
Download the Alabama Student Grant Application (see Resource section).
Fill out the application and print it.
Mail the application to the Alabama Student Grant Program, PO Box 302000, Montgomery, AL 36130.
Apply at a college or technical school that has Pell Grant eligibility. The school's financial aid department will tell you if the school has this eligibility.
Gather the information and items you will need to fill out the application. These will include your Social Security Number, tax returns, driver's license and bank statements. You will also need your parents' information if they still claim you as a dependent.
Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN). The PIN allows you to sign your application electronically. Your parents will need a PIN if you are using their financial information.
Fill out the worksheet before you fill out the application. Filling out the worksheet first gives you the opportunity to correct any information before you apply.
