How to Get Grants for a Private School

There are all kinds of websites that promise you free money for school, but many are just frauds. Although there are funds available through the government to pay for schooling, the procedure you have to go through often seems too cumbersome. Often, all it will take to find grant money is to hire a person who knows the process and where to look.

Instructions

    • 1

Look on the Internet for government websites that have grant money available to you as an individual or organization.

    • 2

Go to the financial aid office at the private school you are interested in and ask if there are merit awards, federal and state grants or discounts for siblings.

    • 3

Gather all your financial information together prior to the application process. This will save you time and you will be able to make an educated guess as to how much grant money you are eligible to receive.

    • 4

Know your deadlines. The application process is deadline oriented. If you miss the deadline for application submission, you may become ineligible for grant funds that year.

    • 5

Apply as early as you can for grant funds for private school. Funds do run out. The earlier you apply the better your chances for funds.
