Instructions

    • 1

      Determine the numerical value assigned to each grade: A = 4 points, B = 3 points, C = 2 points, D = 1 point and F = 0 points.

    • 2

Multiply the grade value of the course by the semester hours (hours per week) or credits for that course (e.g. 3 hours of an A class = 3 x 4 =12). The result of this multiplication will be the grade points for the class.

    • 3

Add up the grade points for every class to determine a total sum.

    • 4

Divide the total sum (answer from Step 3) by the total number of hours or credits of classes per week. This is your grade-point average, or GPA.
