Italicize the title of the book and follow it with the original date of publication: "The Picture of Dorian Gray. 1890." Include information on the edition if it is a revised or later edition; for example, "The Picture of Dorian Gray. 1890. 1st rev. ed."
Check the page of the book right after the title page to find the publication information. Include the publisher's location and name and the date of publication in this format: "New York: Signet Classic, 1962." If it is an e-book, add the name of the site where you accessed it in italics. For example, "New York: Signet Classic, 1962. University of Virginia Electronic Text Center."
Indicate the medium of publication. Use "Print." for a book or "Web." for an e-book. Include the date you accessed the book for an e-book; for example, "Web. 10 May 2011."
