Located in Livonia, L'esprit Academy offers an 8,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in which to study. As of April 2011, course offerings include cosmetology, esthetics, manicuring and instructors options. A full-time schedule includes classes on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuition amounts vary with the most costly program being cosmetology at a total of $14,875. Cosmetology is also the school's most intensive program, involving 1,500 hours. While the institution does not participate in federal financial aid, the school does offer a monthly payment plan.
P&A Scholars Beauty School offers programs in cosmetology, esthetics, manicure and instructor training. To qualify for this program, you must be at least 17 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalency and a verifiable Social Security number. Admission to the instructor course requires that you be at least age 18 and hold a current cosmetology license. Regal Beauty School is located in the city of Livonia. The school offers licensure programs in the areas of cosmetology and skin care, esthetics and teacher training. Also available is a program for high school students. The requirements for this program include that you be at least 16 years of age, complete an interview with the director with parents or guardians present, and obtain permission from your high school counselor. As of April 2011, the cost for the cosmetology program is $6,900; it is the school's most expensive course. The school does not participate in federal aid. It does, however, offer a payment plan option where a down payment is made and monthly payments are set up to cover the balance of the tuition costs.
Virginia Farrell Beauty School is state-licensed and accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences. The school offers three courses in cosmetology, manicure and cosmetology instructor. With Wayne County locations in Westland and Livonia, Virginia Farrell Beauty School offers curriculum that will prepare you for the state licensing examination. The school also offers career placement services that are available to current and past graduates of the programs. Financial aid and grants are available for those who qualify.
