Arizona Cosmotology Schools

Cosmetology schools provide training for a variety of beauty-related careers, such as hair stylists, manicurists, pedicurists, estheticians, and makeup artists. Arizona offers several opportunities for prospective cosmetology students. Although the state's largest cities, Phoenix and Tucson, provide the most options, other smaller cities and towns throughout the state also offer educational opportunities.
  1. Phoenix Schools

    • The Phoenix area provides multiple opportunities for prospective cosmetologists. The Paul Mitchell School is conveniently located just off of Interstate 17 in Phoenix and provides training in hair design, skin care, nail art, aromatherapy, sales, makeup and marketing. Day school and night classes are available. The International Academy of Hair Design also has four locations in the Phoenix metro area: two in the city, one in Chandler and one in Tempe, both of which are located southeast of Phoenix. In addition to cosmetology, the International Academy also offers programs in esthetics and provides advanced education courses.

    Tucson Schools

    • The Tucson College of Beauty is a small, locally-owned and operated beauty school that offers programs in cosmetology, esthetics and continuing education. The school is located in northern Tucson, just off of Interstate 10. Tucson is also home to the Aveda Institute, a cosmetology school that also emphasizes wellness, body care and nutrition. Aveda uses green, plant-based products and students receive free yoga classes during their enrollment. The school offers programs in cosmetology and makeup design.

    Flagstaff Schools

    • Flagstaff is a scenic mountain city located in north-central Arizona. The city has one cosmetology school for prospective stylists. Empire Beauty Schools is a national chain of schools that offers programs in cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology, makeup art and cosmetology educators, as well as advanced education offerings. The Flagstaff location provides programs for prospective cosmetologists. The school is conveniently located off of Route 66 and Interstate 40, close to Northern Arizona University. Daytime and evening classes are available.

    Other Opportunities

    • Fort Mohave, located just miles from the Arizona/California border, is home to All Beauty College, which provides training in cosmetology, esthetics and nail technology. Safford, Arizona, a small town in the southeast region of the state, is home to the Eastern Arizona Academy of Cosmetology, which is affiliated with Eastern Arizona College. The school offers a 10 1/2 month program that provides 44 hours of college credits. Empire Beauty Schools has another campus location in historic Prescott, Arizona, located between Phoenix and Flagstaff.
