The Boulder College of Massage Therapy offers a nearly 100-hour certificate program in canine massage. Classes cover acupressure, sports massage and massage for dogs with common canine diseases. The program ends with a supervised practicum.

Brandenburg massage therapy offers certification in both canine and equine massage therapy. Casual students can also learn about canine massage therapy in classes intended for dog owners wanting to massage their own pets. The Northwest School of Animal Massage conducts classes at multiple campuses in the United States and Canada. Three levels of certification are available, with the highest level intended to prepare students to work as a massage therapist rehabilitating injured animals in conjunction with veterinary care. Some distance-learning courses are offered for students who aren't located near an NWSAM campus. Alternative therapies including reiki and acupuncture are also taught.
