Landscape Design Online Schools

Whether it is to begin a career or further an interest in landscaping, colleges based online allow students to learn more about landscape design without having to leave their own yards. Several schools and colleges offer programs in landscape design, with some issuing certificates once the student completes the program, and others offering career diplomas.
  1. Ashworth College

    • Ashworth College is an online institution that offers a landscape design program culminating in a career diploma. The program teaches students outdoor room elements, how to present ideas, and the process of combining trees, ground covers, flowers and shrubs in the outdoor setting. In order to accomplish this, students study elements of proportion and balance, as well as lighting techniques. To prepare students for the real world, Ashworth teaches them how to calculate the correct amount of materials needed to complete a project, as well as how to prepare bids for potential clients. The landscape courses are divided into 18 lessons that can be completed on the student's own schedule. These lessons include graphic techniques, hardscapes and landscape irrigation.
