Students in Michigan have a variety of trade schools and colleges from which to choose. In addition to certificate and associate's degree programs, apprentice programs and continuing education course are also available. Students may take associate degree programs that are transfer programs, which focus on a general education curriculum that easily transfers to a four-year-college, or non-transfer programs, which focus on professional development.

      The Culinary Institute of Michigan (CIM) is located in downtown Muskegon, Michigan and is part of the Baker College System. CIM students are eligible to live in a Baker College apartment-style residence hall. Students may earn an associate's degrees in baking and pastry arts, an associate's degree in culinary arts or an associate's degree in food and beverage management. CIM also offers a Baking and Pastry Certificate program and bachelor's degree program in Food and Beverage Management. The CIM is housed in a 40,000-square-foot building complete with state-of-the-art classrooms and temperature- and humidity-controlled labs.     Auto/Diesel Institute of Michigan

    • The Diesel Technology Center utilizes the latest equipment.

      The Auto/Diesel Institute of Michigan is located in Owosso, Michigan and is part of the Baker College System. The Institute offers certification and associate's degrees in both automotive and diesel program study areas. Graduates of the automotive certification program are prepared to take the Specialty and Master Mechanic certification exams. The automotive associate's degree program prepares students for certification in five of the eight areas of certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Graduates of the diesel certification program are prepared to work on major medium- and heavy-duty systems and are prepare students for certification. Graduates of the associate's degree program in diesel are prepared for certification in multiple technical areas of diesel repair and technology.
