The Barber and Styling College of Lansing, established in 1992, trains students to become modern barbers. Students take courses in client services, chemical techniques, safety and sanitation, hair cutting, shaving and business management, as well as laws, rules and regulations. Each course has two parts: classroom instruction and practical, hand-on training. After completing the program, students have over 1,700 hours of training and will be ready to take the state barber licensing examination.

Career Quest Learning Centers offers training programs in health care, information technology and administrative office fields. Students interested in health care can choose from medical assistant, medical specialist, medical administrative assistant or certified nursing assistant programs. Other career programs include IT professional, Linux system administrator, PC and Microsoft Office specialist and administrative office professional. The programs vary in length, but students can complete most in three to nine months. Career Quest Learning Centers provides students with financial aid and career services.

Students at the Excel Academy of Cosmetology can take courses in cosmetology, manicuring or cosmetology instructor training. The cosmetology and manicuring programs begin five times a year, and students can register for full- or part-time status. Benefits of the Excel programs include small class sizes and state-of-the-art instructional resources. Excel Academy of Cosmetology also offers a dual enrollment co-op program for high school students. Students are eligible for the state licensing exam once they complete the program.

Students at Ross Medical Education Center can enroll in the medical assistant, medical billing assistant or dental assistant programs and complete them in as little as 30 weeks. The curriculum consists of core medical theory courses along with hands-on laboratory and clinical training. Before graduation, all students must complete a practical externship so they can apply their skills in a real-world environment. Trainco Truck Driving School offers students a variety of full-service training programs. The Full Class A Program is the introductory program that prepares students for the CDL driving exam and includes instruction on full-size, Class A tractor-trailer combinations. Students can complete the program through day or night classes and obtain their licenses within four to five weeks. Other programs at Trainco include Class B and Class B Bus instruction, entry-level motor vehicle operations, skid master technique, accelerated courses and seminars. Trainco helps students begin their careers immediately after graduation and offers lifetime job placement assistance.
