Los Angeles Trade-Technical College is a public community college dedicated to vocational education. LATTC accommodates nontraditional students, with nearly half of those attending the school saying that they work more than 30 hours a week. The school is accredited by numerous state and regional boards, including the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the California State Department of Education. Los Angeles Trade-Tech awards associate of applied science degrees and certificates in numerous trades, such as carpentry, welding, culinary arts and cosmetology. Additionally, students at LATTC may enter apprenticeships for operating engineer and electrical lineman trades.

Universal Technical Institute has a location in Rancho Cucamonga, California. UTI specializes in automotive training, with courses in automotive, diesel and collision repair. UTI provides students with all textbooks and most tools as part of their tuition. The college helps students find housing while attending classes. After graduation, UTI will help students find appropriate employment in their field. UTI is set up for working students, with accommodations made for students who can provide documentation that their job requires them to be at work during class.

The Art Institute of California provides a campus for students seeking creative careers. Associate of science degrees are available in fields such as culinary arts, graphic design, web design and video production. Bachelor of science degrees are available in graphic design, game design, web design, interior design, digital filmmaking, fashion marketing, culinary management and audio production. Programs include massage therapy, phlebotomy, medical assisting, medical coding, physical therapy and pharmacy technology. Students pursuing a course in massage therapy can complete training in as little as eight weeks. The institute also provides classes for students who wish to prepare for their national professional certification course in massage therapy.
