  1. Lincoln Technical Institute

    • Formerly Baran's Institute of Technology, the Lincoln Technical Institute in East Windsor offers students degrees in such areas auto body repair, automotive, motorcycle, electrical, welding, diesel, and HVAC/R. Students receive comprehensive training in all aspects of the fields studied. The autobody program, for example, contains 78.5 credit hours to include all aspects of automobile collision repair and refinishing as training for collision-repair technicians, painters, frame technicians and minor mechanical repairers. Students must pass an Ability to Benefit test, be a high school graduate or have a GED for admission. Programs are 12 to 24 months in length and offer day and evening classes. The Lincoln Technical Institute is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

    Porter and Chester Institute

    • The Porter and Chester Institute has several locations in Connecticut, including Branford, Enfield, Rocky Hill, Stratford and Watertown. With instructors taken right from the field, students receive hands-on training delivered by experienced practitioners. Preparation is geared to making all students immediately employable, with students trained to be punctual and dependable. The institutes also offer interviewing skills training and job search assistance to ensure that all students become gainfully employed upon graduation. Programs include automotive, CAD, computer network technology, drafting and design, electrical, electronics, HVAC/R, administrative health, dental, medical and nursing. Federal and state financial aid and loans are available through the school's financial aid office, in addition to the school's own supplementary student aid program. The financial aid office also offers students assistance in locating other funding resources needed.

    CSB School of Broadcasting

    • The CSB School of Broadcasting has two locations in Connecticut: Farmingham and Stratford. Students receive complete training and instruction in broadcast technology, including audio production, advanced audio production, journalism, studio operations, radio and television performance, speech radio and television acting and video production. Through state-of-the-art equipment and software, students receive hands-on training. Beginning the first day students shoot and edit film, shoot music video, use Final Cut Pro suites, explore music, and use Pro Tools. It doesn't end there -- students continue on to networks with alumni and media partners at CSB, with support from career services to help them find jobs and get real-world advice about how to use their new skills.
