    ITT Technical Institute

    • Located in Cary, about 12 miles from Raleigh, ITT Technical Institute provides technical training. Students can take courses from college divisions that include electronic technology, business, information technology and criminal justice. Classes are taught on a flexible schedule so working people can attend classes when it is convenient for them. Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent to be considered for admission.     Wake Technical Community College

    • Founded in 1958, Wake Technical Community College offers technical training in Raleigh. This two-year accredited technical school trains about 65,000 students annually. It has on-site and online classes available. In-state tuition rates are $904 per term for students taking 16 or more hours, as of February 2011. Financial aid and scholarships are available for qualifying students.

    Miller-Motte Technical School

    • Miller-Motte Technical School offers technical training on site in Raleigh and online. Students can take courses in cosmetology, dental assisting, medical assisting, network administration and paralegal studies. To be admitted, students must take a Scholastic Entry Exam. This exam measures their academic skill level. Tuition is about $225 per credit hour, as of February 2011. Financial aid and grants are available to qualifying students.
