UCLA offers two different Six Sigma training courses in the Los Angeles area. The first course is a Six Sigma Green Belt course. The green belt distinction essentially means that upon completion of the training course, graduates will be able to assist their managers with data collection and data analysis. Furthermore, they will have an in-depth understanding of the statistical side of Six Sigma.
UCLA's second training course is the Six Sigma Black Belt program. To qualify for this course, you must have passed the green belt course. The black belt course focuses on problem solving and develops a further mastery of concepts such as Lean Six Sigma.

The Six Sigma.us certification takes place at the El Segundo, California (just outside of L.A.), Hilton Garden Inn hotel a few times a year. The training courses are broken down into three certification classifications.
The lowest classification is the Yellow Belt. This training course is intended for students new to Six Sigma. It teaches the basic principles of the operation methodology and lasts two days.
The second classification is the Green Belt. Like UCLA's program, the green belt is designed for mid-to-lower-level managers who occasionally assume the lead on Six Sigma projects. Students are taught data collection and analysis techniques by black belt-certified students and teachers.
The highest classification for the Six Sigma.us course is the Black Belt. Students are taught advanced Six Sigma strategy while they are versed on becoming effective project managers in a Six Sigma setting.
