Tucson College is a private, for-profit trade school located in the eastern portion of the city. The school has accreditation through the Independent Colleges and Schools and offers certificate and diploma programs in phlebotomy, pharmacy technology, administrative assisting, medical billing and coding, certified nurse assisting, patient care technology, medical assisting and electrical technology. Most programs require less than a year to complete. Students receive hands-on training through practicing in laboratory settings and through internships, which are offered in some courses of study. The Tucson College of Beauty is a private, for-profit cosmetology trade school located to the northwest of downtown Tucson. The school is approved by the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology, allowing graduates to qualify for state licensing examinations in cosmetology. The full cosmetology course of study covers hair cutting, styling and chemical treatments as well as skin care and manicuring. The program is offered in a 48-week full-time and a 64-week part-time format. A course in skin care is also offered and requires 26 weeks of part-time study to complete. All students have the opportunity to work in the college's salon, which is located on the property. The school participates in federal and state financial aid programs.

Founded in 1979, the Fred G. Acosta Job Corps Center is a public trade school operated by the U.S. Department of Labor. The school provides vocational training for students who are 16 to 24 years of age. Diplomas are granted in automotive technology, business technology, collision repair, electrical wiring, facilities maintenance, health occupations, medical office administration, plumbing and retail sales. The school provides its training programs at no cost to students. Free housing and meals are also provided for students. In addition, students receive a monetary living allowance while participating in the program. Upon graduation, Job Corps students are given a grant to help them afford housing and transportation during their job search as well as six months of job search assistance, career counseling and assistance with relocating for employment, if necessary.
