Oklahoma Beauty Schools

The southern U.S. states are famous for their beauty pageants, so it shouldn't be surprising that there are many beauty schools available in the South. As of 2010, Oklahoma has six schools that specialize in training beauty professionals in a variety of disciplines, from massage therapy to cosmetology and nail technology.
  1. Enid Beauty College

    • Enid Beauty College, which opened in 1963, is accredited by the National Accrediting commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) and is licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology. Enid's cosmetology program, which consists of 1,500 hours and can be completed in 10 months, trains students to care for and style hair, skin and nails.

    Aladdin Beauty College

    • Aladdin Beauty College has two locations in Oklahoma, both part of a chain of beauty colleges owned by Aladdin Inc. The school has been operating since 1964 and trains students in skin, nail and hair care. Training in cosmetology instruction is also available.

    American Beauty Institute

    • The American Beauty Institute, established in 1985, is nationally accredited by NACCAS, is licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. They offer a 1,500-hour cosmetology program, which involves coursework in hairstyling and cutting; a 600-hour nail technology program and a 1,000-hour instructor training course.

    Imagine Paul Mitchell Partner School

    • The Imagine Paul Mitchell School in Oklahoma is part of a nationwide chain of beauty schools carrying the famous Paul Mitchell name. Their cosmetology program meets state requirements for hours of study and features a three-step program called CORE, ADAPTIVE and CREATIVE. This program focuses on learning, applying, and expanding the rules of makeup, hairdressing and fashion.

    Central State Beauty Academy

    • The Central State Beauty Academy was one of the first beauty schools to be licensed by the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology. The school offers flexible schedules and teaches classes in hairdressing, nail technology, skin care and cosmetology instruction.

    • Heritage College in Oklahoma City offers a program in esthetics, which focuses on skin care and health. The program includes coursework in facials and facial massage, skin care and medicine, and maintaining healthy skin.
