Charter College offers programs in several states, including a campus in downtown Long Beach. Charter College has programs in medical insurance coding and billing, legal assistant, massage therapy, medical assistant, pharmacy technician, computerized office specialist and computerized accounting specialist. The Charter College Long Beach campus is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. It uses an accelerated year-round schedule, with classes starting every five weeks. Students can complete an associate's degree in 15 months and a bachelor's degree in 30 months.
DeVry University has locations across the United States and Canada. The DeVry campus in Long Beach is in the Kilroy Airport Center, midway between Los Angeles and Orange County. Devry Long Beach offers associate's degree programs in several areas of study, including electronics and computer technology, network systems administration and web graphic design. DeVry University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
WyoTech has locations in four states, including California. WyoTech focuses on automotive, diesel, motorcycle, marine, collision and refinishing, plumbing and electrician career fields. The WyoTech campus in Long Beach offers those programs, plus a program that trains students to work as medical assistants. The Long Beach location is on Technology Place, one block north of the Pacific Coast Highway. The Long Beach campus of WyoTech is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.
Orange Coast College, 20 miles south of Long Beach in Costa Mesa, offers certificate and degree programs in more than 50 fields, including aviation maintenance, construction technology, computer-aided design and drafting, welding technology and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. Orange Coast College also offers traditional programs of study for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university and complete a bachelor's degree. Programs are offered with flexible schedules, and some courses are available online.
