    • Atlanta Technical College is located just south of downtown Atlanta. ATC offers a wide variety of degree and certificate programs, including automotive technology. ATC's diploma program prepares students to be auto mechanics. According to the school website, the 103-credit program helps student learn technical and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program teaches students automotive mechanics theory and practical application. Classes students will take include engine repair, brakes, suspension, transmission repair, diagnostics, and climate control systems. To enter the program, you must be 16 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and pass a placement test in reading, language, and math.

These programs train students to diagnose and repair cars, trucks, buses, tractors, construction equipment, and recreational vehicles. CTC also offers a wide range of specialty programs including engines, brakes, electronic systems, transmissions and trans-axles, steering and suspension, diagnostics, emission control, and heating/air conditioning systems. To enroll in the school, applicants must be 16 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and take a placement test that will assess skills on a number of subjects and topics.
