Madison Area Technical College or MATC is the largest technical college in Madison, with campuses both on the north side of the city and at a downtown extension. MATC offers degree programs in a wide range of studies, as well as preparatory coursework designed for transfer into the state college system. MATC also guarantees transfer to four-year state colleges in the University of Wisconsin system.
The nationwide chain ITT Technical Institute has a campus on the south side of Madison. ITT offers bachelor and associates degree programs in electronics, information technology, drafting and design, as well as criminal justice. ITT is one of the largest degree granting colleges in the United States, with over one hundred campuses nationwide.
Herzing University, with a campus located on the north side of Madison, offers a range of technical and occupational training. This college focuses on medical and legal certificates and degrees, as well as some programs in electronics, computer science, and design.
Madison Media Institute or MMI, with a campus located on the east side of Madison, has programs specializing in media production and management. Its specialized programs include recording and music production, video production and film editing, graphic design and digital media, audio visual systems technology, video game design and animation, and music management and entertainment business.
