Tech Training Schools

A technical training school is a type of vocational school that helps teach students to work in a variety of fields. Graduates of technical training schools can go on to work as automotive technicians, electricians, cosmetologists or medical assistants, among other positions. These institutions provide classes that are geared toward training students to be able to perform specific jobs in their fields of study.

    • ITT Technical Institute is a vocational school that has more than 100 locations across the country. It offers a variety of training programs such as business administration, computer drafting and design, web development, software programing and technical project management. Like ITT Tech, Lincoln Technical also offers a variety of online degree options, in fields of study like advanced medical coding and billing, graphic design and criminal justice. Lincoln Technical provides hands-on training in its job fields as well as in classroom study.

    UMBC Training Centers

    • Offered through the University of Maryland, the UMBC Training Centers offer a variety of professional scientific and technical training. Areas of study include information technology, sonography, instructional systems design, and cyber-security. These are non-degree programs, meaning that when the student completes the program, he will not earn a degree despite his time in the classroom. In order to provide high quality training, the school has partnered with a variety of impressive companies, such as Microsoft IT Academy and Project Management Institute.

    Everett Community College

    • Located in Everett, Washington, ECC has a division of its school devoted to a vocational/technical training program. This program allows students to graduate with an associate degree in Technical Arts, and works in conjunction with several agencies such as the Department of Employment Security to aid in job placement after graduation. Everett Community College utilizes advisory committees made up of professionals that work in different fields to help guide their different programs and departments.
