The Universal Technical Institute offers a 51-week automotive technology training program. In addition to learning how to install and repair vehicles, electives opportunities offer students an opportunity to gain specialized training in specific brands, including BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota. A post-graduate program is also available for students. The Universal Technical Institute has campuses in numerous states around the country, including California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania.
WyoTech campuses are located in California, Wyoming, Pennsylvania and Florida. The automotive technology program focuses on areas involving basic engine management systems, chassis, drivetrain systems and driveability diagnostics. Additional topics in the program teach students about applied service management, high performance powertrain, light-duty diesel, performance mechanical and performance electronics. Students learn how to use the latest technology and developments in the field to diagnose and repair automotive problems.
The automotive technology program at Lincoln College of Technology offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on training with fuel systems, electrical systems, driving diagnostics and transmissions. All instructors are certified through the Automotive Service of Excellence (ASE), and students learn techniques to install, repair and maintain vehicles. Lincoln College of Technology has campuses with automotive technology programs in Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.
The Advanced Technology Institute offers an automotive technology program. The campus is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and the automotive technology is certified through the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) and ASE. The curriculum teaches students about how to install, repair and maintain tires, steering and suspension, computers and diagnostics. Students learn automotive technology theory through academic coursework and customer service skills during on-the-job training.
