St. Paul College is a technical and community college located in downtown St. Paul in the Cathedral Hill area. Having opened its doors in 1910, this is the oldest two-year school in the Twin Cities area. From a two-semester diploma in cabinetmaking to a nine-credit wine certificate program to an Associate of Applied Science degree in engineering, this technical school has an array of programs from which to choose. The college also features a salon operated by cosmetology students and staff, and the City View Grille, operated by students and staff enrolled in the culinary programs. St. Paul College also offers classes with transferable credits for students looking to earn a four-year degree.

Ranked one of the top 10 colleges in Minnesota by Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal, Hennepin Technical College offers AAS degrees, diplomas and certificates in a variety of technical disciplines. Hennepin Technical College has two Minnesota campuses, in Brooklyn Park and Eden Prairie. The campuses are approximately 20 miles apart and students are welcome to take classes at either campus. AAS degrees offered include web programming, drafting, dental assistant and graphic design. Founded in 1914, Dunwoody College is a private, nonprofit technical school located on 15 acres of land in downtown Minneapolis. Dunwoody offers bachelor's and associate's degrees, diplomas and certificates. Students seeking a Bachelor of Science degree can major in applied management, interior design or health care information management. AAS degree choices are plentiful and include studies in graphic design, computer networking and physical therapy. A variety of certificates and diplomas are also offered. Dunwoody also has a campus in Chaska servicing the southwest metro area, and offers evening classes.
