Milwaukee Tech Schools

Instead of attending a two- or four-year university, you may want to attend a technical college. The Milwaukee area features a variety of technical colleges that assist students with preparation for the workforce. These schools offer specific training for a variety of careers and most offer financial aid.
  1. Milwaukee Area Technical College

    • The Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) has several campuses throughout the Metro Milwaukee area. This school offers a variety of programs ranging from criminal justice to culinary arts. Students can take classes at any campus for degrees. Campuses are located in such locations as downtown Milwaukee, south Milwaukee and West Allis. Graduate programs are also available.

    Milwaukee Career College

    • Milwaukee Career College offers classes on campus and online. This school specializes in the medical industry and offers degrees in medical billing, pharmacy technician and coding and medical assistant. To enter this school you must have a high school diploma or GED and you must meet specific criteria before graduating. Criteria will be based on your program.

    Kaplan University

    • Kaplan University has a few locations around Milwaukee including its downtown location at Grand Avenue Mall. Though Kaplan University is an online school, it offers on-campus support. This school trains students for careers in computer technology and medical fields. Students can take classes online and on-campus.

    Waukesha County Technical College

    • Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC) is located in the suburbs of Milwaukee, but has students from the city. This is one of the largest technical schools in Milwaukee offering a variety of degrees ranging from emergency medical technician (EMT) to travel. Students can transfer the credits from some courses to the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha and other universities.
