Students receive instruction in adult health nursing, family nursing and advanced nursing. To be considered for admission to the program, students must have completed prerequisite classes, including psychology, mathematics, English and biology with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and pass the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).

Athens Technical College, located in Athens, offers a two-year program in registered nursing. Upon completion of the program graduates are awarded an ADN. Coursework includes instruction in anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, psychology, nutrition and the foundations of nursing. Students complete clinical rotations in hospitals, nursing homes and clinics. Clinical rotations allow students an opportunity to practice skills learned in the classroom. To be considered for admission to the program, students must have earned a high school diploma or GED, completed prerequisite classes with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 and have current certification in CPR for the professional rescuer.
