Georgia Nursing Schools

The state of Georgia has several great schools for nursing. Whether you're interested in earning a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN), a Master's in Nursing (MSN) or would like simply to earn a two-year licensed nursing degree, there is a school in Georgia that will help you meet your goals.
  1. Emory University

    • Emory University, located in the bustling metropolis of Atlanta, ranks among the top 50 schools in the country according to US News. This school offers future nurses a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, a Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degree in the nursing accelerated dual program, a Master of Science degree in nursing and a special Bachelor of Science degree in nursing as a second degree program (for those who have already received a Bachelor's degree in another subject). Students can also receive a PhD in nursing. The program at the Neil Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing strives to offer up-and-coming nurses access to world class and state-of-the-art healthcare education. The school also offers a Master of Science degree in Nursing and Master of Public Health (MSN-MPH) degree with the Rollins School of Public Health. Although admissions vary depending on the program, students should show themselves as strong candidates by having a strong grade point average at their prior institution of study and demonstrate a high level of interest in nursing.

    Medical College of Georgia

    • The Medical College of Georgia, located in Augusta, offers several degree programs in Nursing including a PhD, Doctor of Nursing Practice, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Bachelor/Master degree combination, pediatric nurse practitioner and nursing anesthesia. In order to be considered for admission into one of the school's nursing programs, students should have a competitive grade point average and quality references, and show evidence of having taken courses that will prepare them for a career in nursing.

    North Georgia Technical College

    • North Georgia Technical College offers a two-year program for those looking to work as practical nurses. During the two years at North Georgia, you'll learn a variety of techniques in order to provide quality care--or you can use your practical nursing degree to transfer to a four-year institution where you can earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Once finished with this program, you will be qualified to work as an entry-level practical nurse. In order to gain admission to the program, you must be 16 years old and possess a high school diploma or a GED (general education diploma).
