In Springfield, Massachusetts, a laser and optical technology program entitled "Laser/Electro-Optics Technology" is offered at Springfield Technical Community College. This program is one of four programs in the "Electronics Systems Group" at the community college.
From the beginning of a fall semester, the Laser/Electro-Optics Technology (LEOT) certificate program at Springfield Technical Community College can be completed in one year, which is equivalent to two semesters. After completion of 28 credits in the certificate program, a student can either seek entry-level employment in the laser and optical field or further his education in pursuit of an associate's degree.
